{"id":111,"date":"2021-01-19T06:30:57","date_gmt":"2021-01-19T06:30:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/norwoodswimmingclub.com.au\/?page_id=111"},"modified":"2025-08-10T20:20:25","modified_gmt":"2025-08-10T10:50:25","slug":"competition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/norwoodswimmingclub.com.au\/index.php\/competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Competition structure<\/h2>\n<p>All competitions are endorsed by the Competitions Committee and SwimmingSA Events and<br \/>is reviewed annually in line with participation and performance trends by Swimming SA.<\/p>\n<p><b>There are 5 levels available to swimmers depending on their age and swimming ability.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Introduction \u2013 Come and try events are for those who are interested in competitive<br \/>swimming and want to attend a meet prior to joining a club.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participation \u2013 Includes club carnivals and open to all swimmers<\/li>\n<li>Development \u2013 Aimed at improving competition skills for younger swimmers and an<br \/>opportunity to obtain times for events.<\/li>\n<li>Performance \u2013 Division 1 meets, country and state championships. These are for swimmers<br \/>over 12 years who have obtained qualifying times to enter.<\/li>\n<li>And\u00a0Masters level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sa.swimming.org.au\/events\/sa-competition-structure\">For more information, visit SwimmingSA.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Entering Events<\/h2>\n<p>All events are entered via the <a href=\"https:\/\/authcrm2.swimming.org.au\/Account\/Login?ReturnUrl=%2FGrant%2FAuthorize%3Fresponse_type%3Dtoken%26client_id%3D7ca6f8e91eb447dca707ec9d514663f6%26state%3Dc0zJYel0h6Tj5DNxuPJSIgvKUtXDNs1Mj9F9a1aV%26redirect_uri%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fswimcentral.swimming.org.au%252Flanding%26scope%3Dprofile\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swim Central<\/a> portal accessed through the Swimming SA<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/sa.swimming.org.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can also access information about <a href=\"https:\/\/sa.swimming.org.au\/events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upcoming events here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note there is a closing date for entering events, which can be located on the<br \/>respective event tile.<\/p>\n<p>If you wish to enter a specific event after the date you can do this by \u2018purchasing a lane\u2019 for\u00a0the specific race you wish to enter. Information on this can be found in forms and resources\u00a0under <a href=\"https:\/\/sa.swimming.org.au\/events\/forms-resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unallocated lane sales<\/a>. The cost\u00a0of this is $25 +GST per lane.<\/p>\n<h3>First Time Users:<\/h3>\n<p>Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/sa.swimming.org.au\/community\/stay-date-swim-central\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Swim Central Resources<\/a> and follow the guide to register your New Members account.<\/p>\n<p><strong>***Please note: if you are registering an account for your child who is under 18, you must first register yourself and then create a family group.
