Competition structure

All competitions are endorsed by the Competitions Committee and SwimmingSA Events and
is reviewed annually in line with participation and performance trends by Swimming SA. 

There are 5 levels available to swimmers depending on their age and swimming ability.

Introduction – Come and try events are for those who are interested in competitive
swimming and want to attend a meet prior to joining a club.

  • Participation – Includes club carnivals and open to all swimmers
  • Development – Aimed at improving competition skills for younger swimmers and an
    opportunity to obtain times for events.
  • Performance – Division 1 meets, country and state championships. These are for swimmers
    over 12 years who have obtained qualifying times to enter.
  • And Masters level.

Entering Events

All events are entered via the Swim Central portal accessed through the Swimming SA
website

You can also access information about upcoming events here.

Please note there is a closing date for entering events, which can be located on the
respective event tile.

If you wish to enter a specific event after the date you can do this by ‘purchasing a lane’ for the specific race you wish to enter. Information on this can be found in forms and resources under unallocated lane sales. The cost of this is $25 +GST per lane.

First Time Users:

Go to Swim Central Resources and follow the guide to register your New Members account.

***Please note: if you are registering an account for your child who is under 18, you must first register yourself and then create a family group. You will then be able to add your child into your family group.

Once you have created your Swim Central account, all future events are then registered via this portal.
